The Juvenile Courthouse hears all juvenile delinquency proceedings for offenses committed within the jurisdictional boundaries of Placer County. These proceedings include detention hearings, arraignments, pre-trial motions, trials, and post-trial proceedings. The Juvenile Courthouse also hears all dependency proceedings for children who are alleged to be abused, neglected, or dependent.
In juvenile delinquency proceedings, the court may order the child detained in a secure facility or released to the custody of a parent or guardian. The court may also order the child to participate in a rehabilitation program or to live with a relative or other suitable person.
