The exterior is clad with precast concrete panels and glass curtain walls. The building was designed to achieve a LEED Silver rating.
The Hall of Justice houses 46 courtrooms, the county clerk’s office, the district attorney’s office, and other support services. It is connected to the Alameda County Jail by a pedestrian bridge. The jail is located on an adjacent site and was also designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill LLP.
