San Diego Hall of Justice is located in San Diego County at 330 West Broadway, San Diego, CA 92101. The building houses the superior court for San Diego County, as well as a jail and several ancillary court-related offices.
The San Diego Hall of Justice is a Beaux-Arts style building completed in 1917. It was designed by architect John Atzbach and is one of the oldest courthouses still in use in California. The building has been renovated several times over the years, most recently in 2002. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The San Diego Hall of Justice houses the superior court for San Diego County, as well as a jail and several ancillary court-related offices. The jail is located in the basement of the building and has a capacity of approximately 1,000 inmates. The ancillary court-related offices located in the San Diego Hall of Justice include the Probation Department, Public Defender’s Office, District Attorney’s Office, and Clerk of the Court.
The San Diego Hall of Justice is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Visitors must go through a security screening before being allowed into the building. Cameras and other electronic devices are not allowed inside the building.
